cheers for the talk.

To save a few quid i fitted my own cht thermocouple from www.airworld.co.uk, and got the binder 712 plug and wires elsewhere.

As you told me the pressures in the return pip from the radiator probably arent that high, what I'll do is to fit a straight thermocouple into the pipe, without any incisions etc. luckily, ive got metal shielded wiring for the thermocouple, so should help me get a good seal when i put it all back together. I'll take a few pic's, hopefully this weekend.

as said, mychron are a rip-off for their water temp sensor's! If i get it to work, might make it available for fellow mychron users aswell.
