I believe you are right Cai......er Kai sorry :)
I recall about 3 or 4 years ago, when MBKC ran a club championship at GYG, they hosted a round of the Biland challenge, I thought it was very entertaining, the first time I had really had a proper look at 4/ karting, they were at least as quick as Rotax, the racing was really close and competitive (around 20 odd turned up), but my abiding memory is the strange noise that they made, quite loud, but very flat.......in motorbike racing terms, similar to how a Ducati sounds in a group of Suzuki/Yamaha.
Overall, I enjoyed the spectacle, the problem is though, if the engine is no longer produced then, with spares also becoming scarce, it can only be a matter of time before what are left become just that, expensive door stops.......
I remember a karting pal around 10 years or so ago being left with a few engines he could do nothing with following the demise of the piston port class.
I suppose the S1 entry would emphasise the current state of 4/......a shame really, because I suppose it should have its place really, though most 2/ers would no doubt disagree, then again, I suppose TalKo`s marketing of the class leaves plenty to be desired.
