As I see it Super One is for racers who want to compete against the best and have a chance of being recognised and be given some backing to be able to move on to other forms of motorsport. In a way Super One is used as a stepping stone on the Motorsport career ladder and with it being televised then you have got a chance of obtaining a long term sponsor that may support you for the rest of your Motorsport career.
There are a lot of club racers that would appreciate the chance to race against the best but can't currently afford to do S1 so how do you think they feel? Having the televised series gives them the chance to go out and get funding to have a go against the best where as last season finding a sponser would be impossible but now you have a chance if you are willing to put the effort in.
The way Super One was last season made it a playground for the rich kids as you had to pay it out your own pocket. The way it is now opens it up to anybody who is good enough to find a sponser or has lots of expendable cash. In effect it gives the ones with talent and no cash the chance to compete for the top prize, which I think is how it should be.
