Salbutamol and salmeterol, both of which are performance enhancing drugs. I take the salmeterol once a day and the salbutamol as required, so if I was wheezy after a race I could take a puff. Taking it during a race may effect my laptimes! As regarding the enhancement, the salmeterol brings my lung capacity up to what should be normal for a person my height, build age etc., so it improves my performance no end compared to the wheezing heap i'd be without it. The regulations are there to prevent able bodied people gaining an advantage by using these drugs, which I totally agree with. Its no different to someone changing something illegally on their kart to gain an advantage.
My gripe is I have to pay double the price for my licence than everyone else, simply because i'm honest and admit having asthma. It'll be the same for anyone else who has a legitamate medical complaint.
We all have our karts checked for safety, but when was the last time you seen WADA checking the drivers for safety?
