The GP6 will be lighter than the SK6 as it is made from a slightly different construction from what I gather and designed for higher speeds (eg F1 cars).

Ive always gone by the old rule, that you only have one head/brain so protect it with the best helmet possible.

If I was a junior I would definitely go for a GP6 as the weight difference could save your life one day in a heavy shunt. All personal opinion of course.
