I too think that we are missing the point. Common sense tells us that the Zip nose cone is dangerous and should be replaced. Common sense should also tell us that two hands on the wheel and two eyes on the track is the safest option. I know that there are many young drivers who have skills beyond their years. Many but not all. It may be coincidence that the drivers who may have fallen foul of 'flipping' are some of the best drivers in the sport. I am sure these drivers would be competant enough to adjust carbs, look behind, and still have control of their Kart. I do worry that SOME young drivers are rushed through their ARKS test, licenced, and thrown into the deep end. They expect to win races the first time out. To be honest I have seen tears after races. Tempers flare, karts are kicked because they didn't win. Something is wrong about that kind of attitude. It is not what karting should be about. It might be an idea that all Cadets should spend at least one season in Club racing to learn how to drive. Novice plates for 6 meetings may not be enough. It would do the Clubs a world of good, grid wise, and maybe also do some of the Cadets a favour. Anyway what do I know?
