With MSA racing you have to apply for your licence from the MSA and meet their regulation for medicals etc. At clubs run under the MSA there will be a MSA Steward, yiou can get points on your licence for misdemeanours but you know the track will be insured and have medical cover. You may not get all this with non-msa racing.
As Nutts Corner is your nearest track then your best bet is to go and talk to the people there - go on a race weekend and look at the classes being run.Racing in Scotland, Wales or England will obviously add to your costs as the ferry is quite expensive plus the extra travel time as there are not too many tracks close to the ports.
