If you have the courage of your convictions then appealing isn't a problem and appeal system is there to do exactly what appears to have happened here ie put right a mistake!
An appeal shouldn't be accepted just because the driver didn't like the decision, they should only be accepted if something new has come to light, eg an endorsement has been issued when it's a non endorsable offence!
However my understanding is that if it comes to a licence suspension of 12 points or more then the MSA would not count one's that shouldn't have been endorsed in the first place. The danger is if you reach 12 points half way thro' a meeting then your licence will be suspended immediately and it is doubtful the Stewards doing this will know what should have and what shouldn't have been endorsable in retrospect, hence the appeal system!
