Thanks for the clarification big p
My post was really about getting opinions on does this work at club level, rather then about my personal situation (hence the subject).
If you took part in all 3 rounds and were planning to use a new set each month, it reduces costs and ensures all drivers have equal tyres and those with a small budget have the same quality tyres as those on a large budget which is really good.
However, if you wanted to take part in just 1 or 2 rounds and didn't plan to use new tyres it in fact increases costs.
Another thought that occured to me is that if a driver takes part in just the last race, he/she will have new tyres while everyone else is on the 3rd race meeting. In my sons case as a novice trying to get experience this wouldn't make a difference but if it was a competitive driver, that could give a winning advantage and while he/she couldn't win the championship it could effect the outcome of the championship.
Just my thoughts, but as a novice myself I could be barking up the wrong tree!
