At the Fulbeck meeting, it was obvious that the testosterone was high. The final "practice race" day before the S1 meeting in March. At every start, in the Senior TKM final there was an unnecessary event at the first corner. A bit spooky that the other classes didn't seem to have the same problem. For sure, there were incidents where the Starter deemed that another rolling lap was justified due to racing before the start line, but once drivers had a "talking to", the problem was resolved. Unfortunately, not so in Senior TKM. What did Ron Dennis once say? "To finish first, first you have to finish". This idea obviously had either not entered the minds of some, or had just been lost in the red mist. However, in the main the Senior TKM drivers, who had got their brains switched on, were sensible and had some really good racing. Basically, the top half of the grid. I certainly include you in that category, as I've looked at the race results that show that you didn't have too bad a day. The solution to these sort of incidents is strong Clerking, which was seen at Fulbeck. Oh yes, maybe bring back Qualifiers to sort out the wheat from the chaff. (Ooops! That could open a can of worms!) Maybe my comments are contentious, but they are purely my opinion. Good luck at the first S1 round.
