I can only speak from personal experience but I did my first ever meeting at Whilton in December in the pouring rain with a full grid and again in January part dry and part wet again with 34 drivers.
Have to say in a total of 6 heats and 2 finals there were NO red flags and very few incidents and nothing like what clearly happened yesterday.
I was there yesterday but will be back in March ahead of S1 so assume it might be the early season adrenalin or just one those days.
Like everyone else hope everyone was/is ok and none the worse for whatever happened.
Trouble is whichever track you go to (and SOME are worse than others) all of them have a particular corner which on the first lap at least is going to cause a problem.
PF is hairpin 1 - just watch them slam into each other. Clay we know about, Lydd which I know isn't on the list for 2009, Rowrah which is and you can go on and on.
without reingiting the argument about specific tracks, the fact is better driving and better officiating including punishments is required.
Again - hope everyone racing yesterday is ok.
