The engine number is just above the engine mount on the front leg, closest to the side pod, its a 3 digit number, and if it has the push button start ( a black box with green and red button on ) there is a number in the top corner of it, and from the 31st of january 2009 all electric boxes must have '5A' stamped on, as some boxes have just '5' which are now inelligebal to use, Hope this helps
