Hey guys,

I know this is a little off topic but can anybody explain how aluminium pistons do not melt when they are opperating at up to 3 times there melting temperature in cars?

Im not sure if its because of the oil in the engine cooling them or is there anything specially done to the pistons to prepare them?

cheers guys
