As I understand it the only difference between those standards is the interior lining, which in the Kart version is NOT fireproof but is made from a more durable material to provide longer life. (this is an Arai SK5 vs GP5 driven view)

I hasen to add that I am not an expert on the approvals requested or granted.

Have you got the 2009 Blue Book? does it state the same for rule C(c)93 as 2008?
