Steve the licences have ALWAYS ran from 1st Jan to 31st December and thats never changed. This is an FIA requirement so is not decided by The MSA, so i'm not quite sure what you're on about when saying "if that's the way they've started to play it", meaning The MSA.

Also going back to when you said there is no start date, just an expiry date, I would have thought the fact that it says in HUGE letters on the front "2009" would give it away just a little bit that it is, in fact, a 2009 licence.
