There was a posting about sponsorship on this forum a short time age - might be worth searching for it.
The dad said his son got sponsorship by sitting down and writing (by hand) to lots of local businesses.
He got free van loan at weekends plus some cash.
You will need to show what you can offer to the business - will you have regular reports in the local paper? Are you willing to put their name on the kart, race suit or your van/trailer?
