I presume they may have confused the word 'fine' to mean, first-rate, great, exceptional, outstanding, admirable, quality, superior, splendid, magnificent, beautiful, exquisite, choice, select, prime, supreme, superb, wonderful, sublime, superlative, rather than a wallet fleecing exercise.
There's nothing like over regulation and swingeing fines to make a sport attractive.
They've killed it, just as they intended.
Or so they thought. IKR and the John Hoyle's and Alan Taddei's who have a passion for REAL karting, will endure.
Anyway, any fine from a sports governing body is not applicable in law. It is well-established in English law that sports governing bodies are not public bodies whose decisions are subject to judicial review.
Conversely, you may not be successful in mounting a legal challenge on a sports governing body decision.
Anyway, let's see what the license holder figures for 2019 brings.
That will be the acid test of where karting is heading.
I'm taking bets that the figure will be lower that 2018, in fact I'll give odds of 2018 to 1.
