Donboy,

First point would be your lad has obviously some physical fitness due to the motorbikes for last 3 years. So ignore Bambino your best long term bet for someone of his age would be cadet/ Honda or Iame.
Although bear in mind that its probably worth you spending some money first of on decent straight equipment , Do not go for a BRAND NEW as its very likely at this stage your son will need driver coaching and practice , practice , practice.
Then once he and yourself decide this is the sport for you invest in newer equipment budget dependent.

At this stage I would suggest ANY kart as 'Bum in seat time' will give you more of a gain than any equipment will.

And remember full most - Enjoy it
