Have measured our Alonso (JTKM). The new Max lengths of the two bars seem very short. A lot shorter than the current ones (450mm Top and 375mm Bottom). The top one leaves the drivers feet more exposed to impact than before as far as I can see looking at the technical document.
If I'm reading it correctly, at 390mm with a constant radius, and then a straight section rearwards to the chassis bracket, it only just clears the throttle pedal on full throttle.
I can't quite see why the bar lengths should give an unfair advantage. If there is nothing in the zone immediately behind the nose cone (the 27mm zone), then surely it's only the plastic brackets that will be holding it in place and stopping it from moving backwards? Simply ensuring that this 27mm zone is completely clear along the full width of the bumper should ensure fair play shouldn't it?
Maybe I'm just missing something......
