And in my experience of using both XXX and XXX they do not charge the same, by a factor of 2, but perhaps thats changed in the past 2 years???...

the principle 1st reason and straw that broke the camels back, was back in spring time I sent an engine back to be skimmed for the 2016 regs, it came back with the ignition illegal by about 3 degrees and it was running like a dog, totally unacceptable and I was quite upset, but I just kept my mouth shut as I didnt want accuse anyone or upset anyone and I gave a bit of "benefit of doubt"

I believe the reason for this is a certain engine builder have way more business then they can handle and they are servicing about 50 engines per day in somewhat of a rush using electric power tools buzzing the engines apart and back together, hence mistakes got made......I think, but I could be wrong

The 2nd reason, which was my fault, was one of my most valuable engines nearly got lost in the post and was delivered to the wrong address in the same business park, it scared the life out of me. As the engine builder is 4 hours away from my home, its totally impractical for me drive my engines up and witness them being serviced.

the 3rd reason is I am sick and tired of the same engine builder constantly trying to sell me a new engine every time I pay my invoice, to quote exact words "oh yeah this is the best stuff we have ever built, you can trade your existing engine in for Ł400".....but thats what they told me before!.....it wore too thin for me, I am nobodys cash-cow

4th reason, I know a few people that have been charged MASSIVE money for a monster motor, only for it to turn into a lemon rather quickly, for the engine builder to just shrug his shoulders.

If you read many of my posts you will see I am quite open about how little we have achieved, and I do not blame my engines performance at any point. If you can find one of my posts that shows I'm blaming my engine for a lack of success, then I will eat my words.

The most money I spend in karting is on 1:1 driver tuition ......because I recognize the fact that cadet driving is mostly driver ability related, for sure my son has progress well this season, but there are many factors, swapping to a 2016 Synergy was a step, engines another, and good 1:1 driver tuition a biggy for sure.

Much like your team, Global Karting recently decided to build their own in-house dyno and start to tinker with their own engines for basic servicing requirements, but still use their engine builders for major work, with no bridges burnt, everyone is happy......I'm really no different.
