If you go through the super 1 top 10 i can tell you that certainly 8 out of the 10 have spent well in excess of Ł60k, so really unless you got that kind of money you are never going to get a place in super 1 regardless of how talented your kid is.All the dads in fusion have spent well over Ł70k, most have full time mechanics being paid in excess of Ł30k/ year plus car plus expenses for travel hotels etc so all adds up. Hopefully it will have encouraged parents to race at club level. Any cadet parent out there who is considering cadets Super 1 or LGM and hasnt got a budget of at least Ł30/40k forget it you are never going to be competitive you are wasting your time and money. Stay with the club racing or maybe try the NKF it will keep you sane and stop you from being bitter about kart racing. It is big business for the teams and Mills brothers who are making a fortune out of the rich dads, the fusion awning will be full again next year of multi millionire dads with average talented kids who are pushed and bought there way to the front, with some pretty dubious amounts of power.
