The other main difference between the TopKart and JET rear rims is the offsets of the mounting hub in relation to the tyre width, they are marginally different, this coupled with the difference in oferall width tends to play havoc with the rear of a zip, whenever we try set-up changes on our ZIP its very sensitive, it appears running the jet rims is a step too far.

Just changing the rim width from 145mm dry to 140mm mustard wet (with slicks on) makes a big difference on the rear of a zip, a 140 will present less rubber to the track......its no big secret that people use the 140 mustard wet rear rims to make the kart release in over grippy summer conditions......but the other main reason is the 145mm wet rims have 5mm more offset, which makes the rear axle about 10mm longer, which again helps release and reduction of rear grip.

regarding rim coulors, honestly look closer! in the junior and senior ranks I regularly see bare ali, gold, and black rims being used.......to be honest the majority of karters couldn't care less about rim colour......but let me assure you that F1 teams do, the heat transfer path between a wheel rim and a tyre is directly related to lap time.
