In "normal" position the clamped upper and lower bars are separated by the approx 61 mm by the mounting block.

As the top/lower bars are usually about 16 mm & 20 mm respectively.

In the "pushed back" position the upper and lower bars are separated by approx 56 mm, but sit in a cradle which is at least 21.5 mm wide.

This spacing difference in the cradle provides for both the drop and the droop.
