All my experience with bambino is before they put the restrictor in the comer engine but I'm sure you'll find the honda much slower, than the other (mainly comer) bambino's at whilton on a Wednesday night.
Your child will still have fun but I'd just stick with the gearing the kart came with because if they do enjoy it and continue, you'll be switching engines in a matter of weeks.
My own experience is that the honda gx35 is ok with beginners on small corporate tracks but on a full track, like whilton and a rapidly improving driver, it'll soon seem painfully slow.
