I personally like the battrnburgs, when they are used properly. IMO they should not have been out for 5 laps out of 7, the race should have been red flagged. The kids come to race and were disappointed that they didn't get the chance, they effectively missed a heat. I believe it was the first incident that day. Rissy have always managed to run their race days really well, even with several red flags, so I was disappointed by the battenburg situation.
It will also be interesting to see how the driving standards fall through the season. After doing "the right thing" and reporting a driver, only to be told to put a form in, pay your money and it will be looked at after ALL the racing has been finished. how many people are actually willing to pay for incidents to be investigated? Not many. How many people are going to simply shunt off other drivers when they know a blind eye will be turned? Lots!! I hope I'm wrong but from my experience, I won't be.
Don't get me wrong, we love Rissy and up until now it has been a great track. It has always ran smoothly and bad driving has always been dealt with quickly. I hope this is just a blip.
