" Maybe the ABKC could make a recommendation but it has to be for the clubs to decide taking into account running costs v income - you could always join the committee and help to change things."

This cannot be said enough, if you want to make changes talk to the committee, put in a proposal for the AGM but take part.

I went to one AGM as an observer (not a member but I have been ther frequently and the AGM was held after Saturday practice) and was the only person there apart from the committee.

At the next meeting, someone in the next pit was loud in his complaint about having X class there with only Y drivers and the fact that it was always like this.(ie too many small grids or running combined grids)

He stated that he knew when the AGM had been, had been there on the day but had gone home before the meeting to watch F1 qualifying 'live'; despite the fact that F1 Qualifying had finished several hours before he had got home and he watched a recording.

He was quite mystified when I could not see where his complaint was. As far as the committee knew he was happy with them to make a decision and the committee had taken into account things that various people had said informally to the committee as well as the one proposal put forward by someone who had been ill on the day(Committee member voted his proxy). If you stay silent you aren't going to be heard.

Put up or shut up! Better yet, stand for the committee.

(And there are places on the MSA Kart Committee and the Kart Technical committee this year. See the MSA magazine. Get your club or association to support you and put your name forward....or stop whinging that the 'MSA' keeps taking decisions you don't like.)
