Sorry Ian, I've got to disagree with you there, seat stiffness DOES make a difference and it can be huge.

Just ask Peter Rankin and Helen Gardner when we proved it beyond doubt to them, one day at Rye.

It's the same with axles, hubs and rims, but it's great if no one believes it.

Would Chris Boardman be able to win on an old Rudge bicycle with rod brakes and a spring seat with a Chossy saddle bag? https://www.flickr.com/photos/sludgeulper/6148253752/

I was skeptical about acupuncture until I tried it as a last resort.

It's those miasms at work :)
