I bought a twin axle box trailer from ebay for £400, its 5 foot wide and 8 foot long, and 6 foot tall, fits perfect into my garage........steel frame with ali cladding, be aware of aluminium framed plastic clad trailers that are very flimsy......also the front of the trailer is a wedge shape on both sides and the top, which aerodynamically does save you a lot of fuel, hence dont buy a flat fronted trailer, as they really do drink more fuel due to being brick-like in the aero department....... its a solid old thing and allows you to put the kart in flat, also I have put in a middle shelf and I can now carry all our karting junk nice and neat without any clutter in the car......and you dont need to remove the engine and drain the fuel, as the kart is flat.......also if you go the van route, doing long journeys inhaling petrol fumes is really bad for your health and you can start to feel sick very easy......when I'm pulling my trailer with our Volvo XC90 2.4 D5, it will easily do 30-35mpg average, which is not too sad......I know people with Iveco 7.5 ton 6 berth race trucks and they constantly whine about doing £600 of fuel when they do a long haul from south to north..........honestly, I have no regrets going the trailer route, when staying away at circuits you can easily make the trailer safe & secure at the track when you go back to the hotel.
