Spot on Colin....I've both raced, marshalled all over the place and observed....twice at a kart event....never again! Ita amazing the difference in attitude towards marshals and observers between kart meetings and car meetings....first time I did it at hooton it was ok...altho I did get some abuse when I put my helmet back on at the next meeting, the second time at another track was horrendous! Blatant cheering by drivers resulted in me radioing it in. They were penilised and I just got abuse from parents and kids hurled at me all day...never again thanks

If you wonder why driving standards are so poor at kart meetings, and why things aren't picked up by observers you only have to look towards the kids and parents to place the blame. Flag marshals are there to watch for incidents, observers are there to watch for driving infringements, unfortunately there aren't many willing to put up with the flak you get at meetings so they spend their time elsewhere
