agreed, the level standard of observers varies just like the standard of drivers and driving. more observers is a good idea....it takes a fair few to spot everything, however with more observers comes more cost...are people willing to pay for more observers if it means cleaner racing??

there is also the other side of the story, I know a lot of people who wont marshal/scrutineer/clerk/ observe at kart meetings because of the abuse you get off parents/kids....

...unfortunately karting has got itself into a vicious circle....kids/parents abuse staff, staff leave, kids/parents abuse remaining staff for not seeing and penalising another kid...you see where this is going...sooner or later you wont have anyone left to observe anything or the quality of people left is below what you would expect of a sanctioned meeting...
