Ian, you make it sound like TKM, Blue and Rotax are already doomed to be the minority class compared to X30.
I think that may be a little premature but I'm sure the X30 guys wouldn't object :)
I think the negativity comes from the past experiences of the daft things the MSA etc have done.
Their track record of doing what the majority of the drivers wanted has been very poor.
It has always been "I think ,we think, let' do, and not let's actually ask!
Now that there is social media and drivers can communicate away from the track, the governing bodies have realised that it is not possible to suppress opinions.
Although they were probably very reluctant to accept this, they now have no choice, although they left it a little too late and IKR has broken the stranglehold they had.
They have a long way to go to regain the trust of drivers and they are going to have to do a lot better than the present set of proposals, even though they are a welcome first step.
They need to get used to moving a bit quicker than a sloth.
Can you remember the antiquity of 'rules' like:
If you hold an MSA license, you cannot race in a non MSA race.
Or, if you are an MSA official, you cannot officiate at a non MSA race meeting.
Luckily times have changed.
