I've recently managed to get my hands on an original 1977 Deavinson Sprint fuel tank, the long tear drop type with the brass shut off tap. I've been advised by a couple of people not to use it on my Sprint because the modern day fuels will react with it in some way and may cause engine/carb problems. Does anybody know what type of problems i may experience if i use it ? Will an in line fuel filter cure the possibility of future problems ? There are copies on ebay but they are £165 each !!

I'd love to be able to use the original but don't want to risk any DNF or engine failures. Any advice guys ? Thanks
