Chris..... you clearly are too new to Karting to know about the Christodoulous. The absolute LETTER of the law was used more than once.
However, leaving that aside: you seem to agree with me, Simon, Graham, etc.. What disadvantages can you see to making the white line the TOTAL limit of the track and, where it is felt appropriate, painting the white lines so that they mark the kerb on corners XYZ as being ON the track or OFF of it?
Personally, I cannot see ANY reason N*O*T to mark the limits of the track with white lines. It will leave ZERO confusion and then nothing at all requires 'interpretation' of the rules or dictionaries to note the LIMITS of the tracks. The cost would be microscopic, just some white paint and (probably) heat to remove the white lines that are currently in the 'wrong' places. If Karters feel that the kerbs on corners MNO should be 'ON' track and corners ABC should be 'OFF' track, it would be SIMPLE to paint the line in the appropriate places.
So far, I have not heard a SINGLE suggestion why this would NOT be a good idea. There may be some..... but I am damned if I can think of any. If you can, please tell me.
