Again - incorrect! Chris - your understanding is spot on. I really don't understand how the others are not reading this correctly -
14.4.2 Drivers must use the track at all times and may not leave the track without justifiable reason. For the avoidance of doubt: (a)The white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track (b)A driver will be judged to have left the track if any wheel of the car EITHER goes beyond the outer edge of any kerb OR goes beyond the white line where there is no kerb
This is really easy guys - as I said in an earlier post - I have spoken with CoC's from Clay, Buckmore, Ellough, Bayford and Whilton, all of whom confirmed that the rule means the use of kerbs is permitted, up to the outer limit of the kerb, which is defined by them and the MSA as the edge of the kerb furthest from the tarmac. The White line is irrelevant when there is a kerb in place, as this forms part of the track. However, the exception to this rule is where CoC's deem it dangerous for racing to take part on the kerbs at the particular circuit they are in attendance to. SIMPLE.
This means you can use the kerb, so long as you are not going beyond the kerb limit where the grass/run off etc begins.
Those of you saying the outer limit of the kerb is where it meets the track - how does that make any sense?! By definition, closest point to the track will be defined as inner - for those that don't know, that's the opposite of outer ;)
