Sadly, Venom is correct. I WAS part of a 'plan' hatched to wipe out the poleman: I'll even agree that I was the main instigator. I won't mention whole Pole was..... but, my 'lesson' to him worked too well in later life......

In my case, it was not my parents fault as they took little or zero interest in my racing WAY back then, The 'fault' was all mine! Mea Culpa.

So what? If I was claiming to be a saint, you'd have a point. I never have!

Skint.... I don't remember claiming that ALL accidents (tee hee!) are caused by the speed, shape or nature of the first corner. My point was the 'loading problems' ARE!

Being shoved from the start line to the first corner (as long as you are not being 'lifted' by the accursed nose cones) is NOT a problem. Personally, I was DELIGHTED to be assisted because, if they could push me, they WOULD have been faster if they'd overtaken.... so ....... thanks guys for all the 'loading'!

However, loading DOES become a problem if the shove continues INTO the first corner (or any corner) IF you need to slow for that corner. If you don't need to slow...... what harm does it do?

Finally, you have actually amplified my point. SS or RS will make sod all difference to 'plotting' or first corner incidents. It's only effect will be when the fastest accelerating guys are up front and the others are progressively further back. THEN the grid will be spread out 'better'. It's the concept that SS will ELIMINATE the problem about which I am railing! When the 'quick launch' guys are BEHIND the other drivers (which will occur in roughly 50% of ALL starts) then the same problems WILL occur. There will be the ADDITIONAL, damned nigh LETHAL problem of a kart failing to launch from the grid..... Taken to its extreme, how about when Pole and Grid 2 BOTH stall? In a RS, if pole's engine cuts out, the 'loading' simply, smoothly, shoves him out of the way. The chance of a SS serious pole-stall MASSIVELY increases the risks over a RS pole-stall!
