David..... this is NOT acceptable..... you are deliberately trying to cheat here!
1-3
a) Yes, not everyone accelerates at the same rate. However, you are pretending that the ONLY thing that could happen would be for the 'lag' to be in YOUR benefit in this argument. If it was Grid 3 who failed to accelerate, then my point is PROVEN! We are NOT discussing specifics, here, we are discussing principles! My point is unassailable!
b) Tow has SOD ALL effect by the first corner in MOST tracks, let alone ALL tracks. This is cheating, again! However, this goes to my argument to place the start CLOSER to the first corner AND to restrict the speed of the karts crossing the start line.
c) How am I disregarding loading further down the field? I am NOT: I was just using 'pole' as an example. The 'examples' apply THROUGHOUT the grid..... except for last place, of course. Simply add (let's guess) a value to 5 to all the numbers I gave! You might as well claim that if pole man's name was 'Fred' then the effect wouldn't occur!
d) No I am NOT assuming the fastest engine is on pole! One of my examples SPECIFICALLY states all the karts have EQUAL power and acceleration! I confirmed that, if poleman has a SLOW engine, then he CAN be shunted. How the HELL will SS reduce that risk?
Having looked at that lot, I HAVE PROVED my point and that my given answers are the ONLY fair and accurate one...... as well you know! You are just trying to cheat to get round your discomfort!
4) Thank you for accepting the point.... at LAST! The cure for dealing with karts that are pushing BEFORE the start is to have PROPER starters/CoCs controlling the start an PUNISHING those who push before the line!
5) Yes, pole man CAN spin before the line in RS, or actually, at ANY point before the 1st corner........ which is EXACTLY the same chance as spinning with SS! The type of start (SS or RS) makes sod all difference to those types of 'spins'. The effect is exaggerated by SS as there is MUCH more chance of finding a 'stationary' kart from an SS than there is from an RS as, even with a spin..... there will usually/often be SOME forward motion, even in a spinning kart. That are plenty of examples which can occur ADDITIIONAL to those found in RS races to be found within SS races!
Finally, with SS.... you will need to allow karts to break formation BEFORE the start line.... which has been a breach of the rules since I was a child! That allows for all SORTS of spectacular accidents right where the track is often most restricted with buildings, fences, barriers and starters.... I.e., the start line! With RS, you MUST have passed the start line where the restrictions occur..... unless you are cheating, of course!
I simply don't know why7 you try to resist this! I am NOT is claiming that RS is the PERFECT answer. However, you are trying to pretend that SS WILL solve all the problems even though you have now agreed that many/all of the LOADING problems CANNOT be cured by SS! I have yet to see you document a SINGLE reason why SS should be 'safer' or reduce 'loading' whereas I have given you more than one reason why SS will be MORE dangerous and have shown that the chance of loading is IDENTICAL in SS to the chance in RS!
