David.....
1) The start of an F1 grid is ALSO staggered..... or hadn't you noticed? If your point was correct, then why don't we allow the 'lead' driver to control the pace in karting-rolling-starts.... exactly like in the re-starts of an F1 race....... oh..... hold on.... that's EXACTLY what we do!
2) 'Limited evidence.....' You are intelligent enough to understand the point from that alone!
3) and you don't think that the change in nature of the start of the race will lead to an 'arms race' in 'launch' technology (i.e., better adjusted clutches) that will redress much of that lost speed??? However, if the karts still need to BRAKE into that first corner..... you will have done NOTHING in the area where most shunts occur..... in the braking and the final turn in area!
4) errr.... so what?
5) Errr..... is that a 'Typo'....? If not, it makes no sense at all. If the CIK return to DD, then they will have effectively ended standing start races!
6) Errr.... we agree.....
I am confused: you start off by suggesting that SS races will have less shunts and then slowly move over to refuting that. That's just plain odd!
