'S1 Rowrah trial' last weekend some karts were seen to bog down 'all classes' except the Honda Cadets' on the race starts thereby hindering the progress of others, consequently some drivers were seen deliberately leaving the track to make progress by driving around other karts and this was all happening before the start finish line note-(No Track Limits)
Let's make no mistake about Standing Starts those drivers who are starting at or near to the the front of the grid have the best chance of making progress towards 'winning or achieving a top level finish' that's why we all go-racing, but unfortunately all those drivers who will be starting either mid-pack or at the rear of the grid don't have a cat-in hells-chance of making any significant progress and might as well just go home!
The starting procedures had to be changed quickly when complaints started to flood into S1 organisers followed a significant number of engine clutch failures ocurred and Jag said they wouldn't give any assurance/warrant any engine or parts.
To achieve a good start and get away quickly from a 'standing start' when the lights go green you have to start your engine hold the kart on the brake and get your engine rev's above 6000/7000rev's and let go!! If standing starts become the norm you can be certain of one thing everyone is going to incur some heafty engine repair bills or at least Ł150.00 for a replacement clutch/clutch drum every other race meeting. Rotax engines are not designed to withstand excessive high loads/forces and Jag implied they wouldn't give any assurances or warrant any repairs.
