My points still stand, indeed your post highlights the very points I was making.

The idea that this was a significant questionnaire depends entirely on supplementary information.

If, for example, I had posted the questionnaire as it stands and if I had recommended that it was important or meaningful, how many people would respond to it, or respond to it sensibly?

There are a very limited number of karters who have any idea (ie to the point where they could pick me out of a crowd) who I am. As far as I am concerned Banzai Boy is just another poster here, I agree with some of his posts, I disagree with others but I don't think we have ever met except over this forum. So why would I take his recommendation that the questionnaire was important, any more than he would take mine?

I did however look at the questionnaire and it struck me as being in the style of any of a number of posters here, posters who seem to have no particular position towards karting except to demand change provided it agreed with their particular stance. Some of those positions are less credible or creditworthy than others.

So, should a questionnaire rely on my knowing the name of the person who created it, or my reading of a particular web-page? After all I guess that the vast majority of karters ignore the pages of these forums as being the work of particular karting extremists, the expression often used to me is that it's the same names rehashing the same subjects and positions, often long on emotion and short on understanding. And yes, of course, that includes me.

So, my position is that the recommendation to fill in this questionnaire is unquantified or unquantifiable without knowing a lot more about Banzai Boy and the questionnaire itself looks hastily put together. Combine the two and the exercise of filling it in in detail looks like a waste of time.

On the other side of the equation, I feel that Colin's article "We're looking at a Doomsday event" is thoughtful, thought provoking and expresses aspects of my opinions better than I could myself. This isn't a surprise to me, many of the track operators and club officials who I have talked to seem to have come to the same conclusions. ( Not surprising if Colin is distilling an ABkC position that reflects those club opinions).

Does that help explain where you and I seem to be at cross purposes?
