At 45 Kg you're going to struggle in cadets. My lad's 42 Kg and we're down to our last 1 Kg of lead on the (cadet) kart (a Zip).

Sure, there are still some weight savings to be made on the kart itself which will hopefully see us through this year but given your lad's weight you're not going to get good value in the cadet class.
