I think there is room for teams although I think the mystique generated by some is a con to hoodwink the naive newbies and I do believe that naivete can be exploited. We have run on our own for quite a long time at club meetings from juniors but our problem was our driver was also the mechanic and that didn't always work when he needed more help than we could manage as a family outfit so finding an affordable but competitive and supportive team seemed the sensible solution. We have had a varied experience with teams and eventually settled with one that suited both the budget and the approach to racing. Decisions to race with teams are not always about over ambition but praticalities. There will always be room for the privateer. I used to take quite a pride in seeing both my boys win after setting up from our clapped out trailer and leaky awning . I also remember giving one of those big motor home boys a piece of my mind when he wanted me to move said clapped out trailer so he could move his vulgar bling motorhome . So sorry said I but my drivers have just gone to stand on the podium so you will just have to wait as I can't load the karts single handed . (but it wasn't quite as polite as that as you can take the girl out of Liverpool but .....).
