Ian, please read what i actually wrote.
'How can 'adding' the 4th grippy (by your standards) tyre feel like a 'release' when you now have 4 tyres AND applied lock. That's the recipe for the very OPPOSITE of the sensation of 'release'!'.
I never said this. I'm off the lock when the 4th wheel hits the ground.
"You also appeared to be saying that the returning of the 4th wheel happened early in the corner.... well you did in your fist posting. In the latest posting, you confirm that you only return the 4th wheel when you have the kart straight...... then it sound EXACTLY like I was describing....."
I'm not saying this either. I'm saying the 4th wheel returns to the ground way past the apex.
'Also, you suggested that Red Maxxis were somehow in a different league to the tyres we used to use...... errrrr..... I've used both and, I can assure you, yes they ARE in a different league..... our old tyres were the equivalent of the Premier League and Red Maxxis are in the Conference....'
I admit i may have implied this, but i haven't driven red maxxis so i didn't comment on them, only saying that you can drive like you describe on greens. You can't drive like that on mojo's, Dunlops/Bridgestone/Vega soft tyres unless the track is very green.
Nothing you have said makes me think any different, great to know that the tyres in the 70/80's made the kart 2 seconds a lap quicker, and they lasted one lap. That doesn't mean the tyre now aren't just plain better, faster and last longer.
Please also don't take points like 'the steering wheel is straight' to mean you don't turn at all. You will still be making minor adjustments to your trajectory but the majority of the turning has been done when you get on the throttle and they is little sliding.
Lack of 'release' would be when the wheel drops to soon and you bog or the wheel drops to late, you slide and bog.
