As I said I was only speaking from my own personal experience at Larkhall Super 1 after never even being to the track my nine year old was 0.6 seconds off the pace so we thought ok fair enough he has never been to the circuit before. Then in timed qualifying our chain came off on the first lap so we qualified stone dead last. Before the first heat started someone said why don’t you give the free line rear rims a try you have got nothing to lose as you are starting last so reluctantly I changed them and nothing else whatsoever on the kart. From the minute go the kart looked instantly better and we and ploughed through the field to finish 7th after starting stone dead last and the lap times were very impressive as well .We were only 0.13 of the winning kart and 0.27 seconds of the overall fastest lap set and all I did was change to free line rear rims and we gained a net 4 tenths a lap. Like I said I am sure others will not find that kind of improvement but we did and it was the best Ł100.00 I have ever spent in karting look at the big teams this weekend and I guarantee you at some point they will have free line rears on.
