An outsider reading this thread might even believe that kids karting and the karting business isn't fueled by wannabees and that everyone was content driving around at their own pace regardless of how good they really are or aren't. We all know that's rubbish, more than virtually any other sport, many of those starting karting do so with high hopes and dreams, the overwhelming majority of whom are bought crashing down to earth when reality sets in. If they are really lucky they get out before they go bankrupt. Most of these people don't/ won't look back and thus any form a discussion is biased to those who are new to the sport, have enough money they don't care or have resigned themselves to just pursuing a fun hobby.
