My son raced at Rissy both days this weekend, he is a confident and competent driver but a rookie, he won the B final cleanly and fairly on Saturday, and was third in the B final on Sunday, he was also the reason the A final was red flagged on Sunday, in what everyone has since told me was a horrible but totally unavoidable accident, he is though I am pleased to say absolutely fine, which is more than can could be said of the kart. Applogies now if your A final was spoilt 7 laps in of a 9 lap final. The main reason I feel for the number of incidents at Rissy this weekend was mixing Iame, Comer and Honda together when there are maximum grids, and fired up kids for Midlands Championship. There were enough comers to form grid on their own, and Hondas and Iames could have had a staggered race together and award 3 separate trophies for three different engines for Midlands Championships, if I wanted my son to race Hondas etc I would have bought him one. I am not knocking the different classes, but the different engine characteristics don't always make for the safest racing.
