PaulD75 - hope your lad isn't too bruised - as one of the fast 'local' drivers it seemed he might as well have painted a target on his back !!
We were well of the pace this weekend (due to technical issues - ie me ! ) and weren't quite such a target, but all the same my lad was on the receiving end of some very aggressive driving.
Perhaps there is a need for timed qualifying to set the heat positions. However, in previous meetings this has never really been a problem as the faster drivers have usually behaved well and shown some consideration to the slower or less experienced drivers, using their superior speed and skill to easily pass them without forcing them off the track at the earliest opportunity.
There was a general feeling of unrest amongst the regulars at Rissy that I spoke to over the weekend. If this is how kids are expected to behave at the 'higher' levels of racing, then frankly they can keep it and go and play expensive bumper cars somewhere else. Either that or clean their act up and demonstrate how good they really are by carrying out skilful passing manoeuvres that give the rest of their compatriots something to aspire to...
