In another class there was a visiting S1 driver.
For the recored here is his litany of observed offences: Saturday Race 1) 1st Heat started on back row and out of pits was in front of pole man and warming tyres by second corner. 2) 1st Heat drove another kart of track as they crossed finish line. 3) In park ferma driver then treatened to put other driver in fence next time out. For this he was disqualified 4) 2nd Heat received warning flag for pushing 5) 3rd heat on rolling lap he kept trying to drive kart beside him off circuit (intimidation tactics not observed by offials) 5) Final was passed fair and square and next corner he drove into other kart taking both out. Happened right in front of clerk who ruled it as a racing incident.
Sunday race 1) 1st heat loaded driver at start but no crash 2) 2nd heat loaded driver at start lifting his wheels off ground For this he received a black flag 3) 3rd Heat on Pole and half way round lap stopped his kart and line behind leaving other side to carry on. Then proceeded and when he caught other line up slowed down to 1mph (seriously). Result Clerk stopped race and Guardians called to grid. Said driver got out of kart and walked towards his guardian. Clerk instructed him to stay with kart and he completely ignored the instructon. Clerk then asked Guardian to explain to him that you are not supposed to stop on a rolling lap. What the guardian said and called him is not printable. 4) Final - Hit kart in front at first corner causing a number to go wide and the whole grid to get spread out. He completely spoiled what could have been a cracking race. Result - No action taken for this
He subsequently got his come uppance when another kart tangled with him and resultant damage caused him to retire.
In time a hope this driver will learn that his aggression, loading, intimidation, disrespect for officials, disrespect for other competitors ultimately achieved him nothing and a different approach might bear more fruit.
