Well, this is the approach of Formula Blue. All the critical parts are marked and the class importer holds the numbers of those parts and to whom they were issued.
There are some people who complain that this makes the class more expensive than it need be and some people have suggested that certain engine builders get better parts than others. Though as others have noted in the thread, it is astonishing how often builders with better drivers get these higher quality parts.
Since Blue isn't a sealed class some of those builders are individuals doing their own thing so Tabor must have a truly impressive stock system allowing the identification of not only the builder but the engine being reconstructed.
Obviously I don't get any of those parts...or am I not a good enough driver to qualify?
