Sam,

If your driver has a licence then you should get the emailed MSA newsletters. Failing that you can access the ABKC newsletters online or on ypour club notice board.
If there are any proposed changes, such as a new carb, then it will be reported in these newsletters.
Your profile shows your local club as Clay pigeon - great bunch of guys/gals run that and they would know about any changes in the pipeline.
As for the Iame not taking off - it was the replacement engine for the MSA cadet championship replacing the comer engine - of course it would take off because is is now the official championship engine.
Super Cadet failed but there was a choice of engines and no one with sufficient financial incentive to promote it.
