At club level there is probably more chance of getting away with a `modified' sealed engine purely because the club/scrutineers know that if they check the engine then you may have to pay to have it re-sealed. Having said that, they also have a lot of experience and if they saw a driver taking poor lines etc but still pulling away from the rest of the field then they may well decide to have a look. At S1 level it is far more common to check an engine either during the day or after the last race - they can insist that both engines that were signed on are opened. I would expect more checks on unsealed engines and maybe that is the best option - BUT there will be people on the forum who will probably say that sealed engines were introduced to cut down on cheating.
